Closed a chapter in the hunting book

My dad and uncle made a trip to the lease to try and catch a buck during the week. He texted me at 5:00 yesterday that he had shot a big one, and I was pumped for him.
We have been chasing two particular bucks for the last 4 years, but never have been in he right place at the right time... Until yesterday. He dropped the hammer on my target deer, a wide old 7 pt. This buck has flipped back and forth between a 6 and 7 each year. He has to be at least 8 years old, but I will check his jaw as soon as I can. I will post pics later, tapatalk is not working for me. I will post up the pics of him since the first time I got him on camera, to show how he has changed through the past few years.

Love seeing a mature buck go down. Be it 7, or 70 points. Can't wait to see the history of this buck.

At one point he was a 130" +- 6 pt. He has broken one G2, but still a heck of a trophy. 19" inside spread.

And please don't tell us he became a spike the year after he was a 130" 6 point.

lol. Don't know what he was as a yearling, but I bet he wasn't much. Been a 6 or 7 since 2009.

                  Ok, here are the pics!
I found one of his sheds back in the spring of 2011 while turkey hunting.

Here is the first pic of him that I got on a TC, and I thought that he was ancient then!

Here he is fall of 2012, back to a 7 pt.

Last year, he was a 6 again. He damaged his antler in velvet, and it bent straight down.

And finally, here he is for his last photo. He is back to a 7 again, and lost a little length. I can't wait to get a close look at his rack and age his jaw to see how old he is.

Nice buck. An old warrior like that is a true trophy for anyone. What did they use to catch him with?

I'd like to say his Mathews Drenalin, but he took him with a Ruger 270. We just can't not put down the bows where we are in NE Texas, just not enough deer coming to feeders.

Man that is a very cool old buck! I hope to get on a place long enough to chase one for several years!
