Civil War re-enactment question

Anyone here involved in the Civil War re-enactment engagements. If so how do you get started? I have a Grandson who is a Civil war buff. And wants to maybe participate in the activities. Also looking for civil war weapons either reproductions or collector arms. If you know someone getting out of it and who may want to sell what he has please send pm.

You've probably already done it but if not just run down i20 to Vicksburg. Check out the park and can probably find out some good info.

We are in the artillery, it is pretty fun. There are companies that make the uniforms badges, etc also make era specific tents and what not.

Look for your nearest sons of confederate veterans camp. They can guide you in the correct direction.
