    Pit in Stomach

Just hit a big buck this morning. Not much blood, found the arrow with about 7 inches of blood on it and the tip broken off. Probably just lost my first deer. SOAB

Give him some time. Go have breakfast and then Go look for him.

If you think it's a bad hit follow these 2 rules.
        1. Give it time
        2. Get a dog

          Good advice here.
Give him atleast 4 hours, maybe 6.

And by the way, you didn't hit anything...you shot a deer.

U remind me of my neighbor...he's always asking me if I hit anything....so reached out and hit him!....I said no but now I have

Seriously, give it some time, do the best you can to take your mind off it.

If you don't get a dog, track slow and quiet with your weapon ready.

Where do you think you hit him? Quartering to or away?

Good luck and keep us posted!

Take your time... Do not push him and he should lay up.

Any idea where the hit was? Sounds like the opposite shoulder may have broke tip? Like they said, get a dog and good luck.

Give it time and when you go, go slow. If he is dead now he will be just as dead later. Tell us about the shot. High? Straight up the leg? From elevation? What broadhead/setup? Don't give up just yet!

Ulmer edge SS 125 grains with pile driver CE arrow. Total arrow weight 500 grains. Quartering towards me slightly. Lost the flight of arrow so I didnt see impact. 25 yards, ground blind. No blood on ground. Found arrow missing about 2 inches and the tip 30 yards from where he was shot. Blood smear about 6-7 inches up the shaft.
