Quickest Way to Clean a Rabbit

I saw this on another site and thought it was too cool not to share. I'll be giving this a try tomorrow.

Huh. I've always field dressed it like a deer then cut a hole thru the fur right middle of its back and pull both directions to skin it.

You'll have to shoot one first.

Seems like you would have alot more hair stuck too it.
I slice them across the back then tear the hide off each end. Then gut.
More than one way to skin a rabbit I guess.

I rabbit hunted with a kid up in Ohio that started the back portion the same way. Except he squeezed the guts out in a perfect pile. Great fox bait!

I used to just grab the fur behind the neck and pull down, ripping the skin off. Be careful or you'll pull the head off too . Then finger under the ribs and into the vitals to rip the guts out. Rabbits are very delicate critters. You can do the same with squirrels. But the squirrels need to be skinned with in 30 minutes of shooting while they are still warm. Or the skin wants to stick to the meat. And it gets hard to pull off.

                      Have H&R .410 Topper. Will travel .

We let the kids shoot about 15 rabbits at the lease.

I ended up cleaning them this way. It was very effective and impressed everyone. They think I'm some sorta mountain man now.

I do the squeezing the guts out and skin across the back and can finish a rabbit in about a minute and a half
