After defensive driving

When you request to take a defensive driving coarse for a ticket , and you pay the amount they require to request it , upon completion of coarse when you bring the required information to the court , do you still pay the remainder of the ticket cost or is that forgiven ?

Only time(s) I've taken DD it's been plead no contest, take defensive driving, and pay $100 or so in court costs. Pay for the course and driving record separately and I'm done.

After you pay the initial court cost when requesting the DD, you do not pay any more except for the DD course.
