Those white rocks sure do help when blood trailing, even a wabbit.

Yeah good for that. Not so good for trying to sneak to the blind in the dark.

I noticed someone say it happens a lot. Then take shorter shots.
You have a point. I will shoot out to 40 on deer, but from my learning, it's difficult to tell what they'll do in the short time between shot and connection. You have a point on just taking shorter shots, and I have a plan to do just that. I moved my setup to where I'll be 20 yards from a main trail. I just pray that the deer don't decide to use a different trail.

The longer the shot, the greater the chance for error. 12-20 yards is preferred by most bowhunters. Close the distance, bro.

A target is different than a deer.

          5o yards?????? Yikes.

You can shoot as far as you want, that's your business. Great shot on the Rabbit...

Typically my shots are anywhere between 10-30 yards. More like 5-20 with th longbow. I practice enough and won't hesitate to take a shot with the compound out to 50. Do what you are comfortable with. Me, I'm comfortable shooting that far. Thanks for the suggestion.

One can also accept advice that may improve their success rate.

That's all I was saying. I like 12 yard shots. No ducking involved.

I didn't ask for advice. If you're only comfortable out to 12 yards then you may need to practice more. Just giving you a little advice. Not all situations can you get a shot that close. I wish it was that easy. I'm sure you've missed before. It's part of bow hunting. I was fine with the miss. Nocked another arrow and back at it. I'm easy going. I don't dwell on stuff. Instead I checked my form, took a deep breath, and the rabbit thinks my form is pretty dang good.

It's TBH. You don't have to ask for advice to get some. LOL. that comment was not directed towards you.

Negative. I have NEVER missed a deer. Missed a hog or two and a turkey in 30 years of bowhunting.

                      Good luck on your hunt.
