    Killed a Tagged Sow?

I was hunting on my lease down in Angelina county last week and shot this big old sow that upon closer inspection had a tag in her ear. I have seen boars tagged that have been caught in a trap and cut but never a sow. She was with another pig at the time I shot her. Anybody killed one before? Im assuming its not uncommon but its never happened to me. Any input would be cool.Click image for larger version

Unless it's been out for a really long time it doesn't look like one to me. Then again, I'm no expert.

You gotta hang the tag on your Call Lanyard like all the Duck Dorks do when they get a banded bird

Probably farm raised. I've seen a great documentary that showed how little time it takes a domestic pig to turn farrel. Crazy!

I read somewhere that they start to turn wild within two weeks of being in the wild. Who knows...

Who the heck would catch a hog, tag it and release it. I would call the game warden find out who did it and fine him for releasing a destructive animal. I'm sure there's some law against this. If there isn't there needs to be. Just my 2 cents.

Read the same as well. Heard Steven Rinella talk about the progression of the wild hog movement in the US. Very interesting. You can tell which hogs are true feral Eurasian hogs and which are domestic crosses somewhere in the bloodline.

She had more fat on her than ive ever seen on a wild pig. The tag looked old like it had been there a long time. She sure smelled and looked wild to me. Its still very intresting.
