Shot a deer a little lower than that but still through body and shot him again a week later. Longest week of my life. Can see wound all way through behind shoulders. Could slide all your fingers through

I've made that same shot a time or two but was always elevated. It's always scary when you see the arrow go in, but recovery is typically short and filled with carnage. Good job amigo!

Made about the same shot last weekend on an old 6 with a broken jaw and found him 3.5hrs later about a mile away. Shot was a bit low

Shot mine in the exact same spot and he went about 100 yards. Shot mine with a 2" grime reaper expandable head. Not a drop of blood for about 75 yards and then there was pools of blood...

Cool thread thanks for following up with a final answer

I was guessing that by the way you worded the first post that the deer ran a good bit. I like low exits (entrances are nice too) because they bleed pretty quick and heavy

Not a prob bud. I like to shoot from elevated stands cause low exits equal good blood trails. From the ground I try to him the 1/3 up the body, high hits seem to have poor trails cause of the cavity filling with blood before it starts to pour out. To me it wasn't a very good shot I believe I dropped my bow arm a bit during the shot but got lucky with the ol slick trick

I shot a young blackbuck in that same spot and he made it about 150 yards before piling up.....I was amazed how far he went!
