Warmest temp to hang a deer??

I'll hang a deer up to the mid 60's and cover it in pepper to keep flys off

Back in the old days before people had walk in coolers and ice chests deer hung in warm temps all the time

My opinion is people are way to paranoid about mild temps.

Take the hide off and let the meat glaze in the shade and its fine

In nov. I shot 5 deer in one sit from a blind from 4:00 till 5:15.... They didn't get gutted till 9:30 pm and they all tasted fine

I'll hang thru 60 degree weather as well. Especially if I know it will drop at night. We use game bags or cheese cloth to keep flies off, which works well.

45-50 but not for more than a day, maybe two (usually only overnight if there's no room in the cooler). Much longer and you're just asking for something to contaminate the meat

I have had them hang in the high 60's if it was cold at night. use gamebags or cheese cloth to keep the fly's off the meat. I have done it for 3 or 4 days at a time. never had any problems

I appreciate all the input. I think I would be comfortable to hang one in the 50's as long as the night temp got lower.
