    655lb black bear?

    Anyone heard of or seen pics of this rumored 655lb black bear killed in North Carolina..

    Weighed on certified scales....


    That would be a MONSTER!

      I heard about a 782 lb taken in N.C this year also.. they must have found a steroid factory or something.

        The bear that Thomas Capps killed is the second-largest bear ever killed in the state of North Carolina.

          Back in the '80s and '90s, when I followed hound hunting closely, 500 lb. bears were not terribly uncommoon. Not everyday occurances, but not really rare. Nowadays, not so much. Those are two beasts!

              They kill some whoppers in the eastern part of NC.

                I used to know a bear guide from Michigan that went down there every year. He said the bears got so big from eating peanuts on the farms. I know they killed a few over 500.

                The biggest one I ever mounted was 580 dressed weight out of northern Wisconsin.
