Does anyone have mitral valve prolapse?

My wife has it and it's getting worse. It's to the point that we are being told she will need surgery in the next 1-3 years to correct it.

Anyone here ever have to have this surgery? Of course my wife and I are both very concerned about such a big procedure.

I have one. They rate them 1-5, 5 being the worst. 35 yrs ago it was found, rated a 2.
It bothers me when I get highly stressed, be it emotionally or physically. But I live with it.
Hope all goes well for her.

      Thank you.

She goes next month for the heart monitor that she will wear for 30 days or so. Based on the info they have now she was told her state is what they see in 50-60 year olds and my wife is 34. I keep telling her to wait until after the heart monitor period and then we will see what needs to be done.

      Still a scary deal
