After spending half of the season hauling an old tripod from one Krivoman blind to the next for my Ozonics, I decided to come up with a solution over the extended Thanksgiving trip. I spent the first few hunts thinking about it in the blind and trying to come up with a solution that did not involve putting a hole in the exterior shell of the blind. With "clamping" it to a window in mind, my son and I headed to Lowe's in San Angelo. My blinds have the vent on top with the "boxes" in the roof, so I had also considered that box as an attachment point.
We spent quite a while looking at hardware and I decided on trying to use all thread and attach it the the box instead of clamping it to a window. Long story short, I got all thread that screwed into the same hole I was using the tripod foot in, some L brackets and some hardware.
In the blind, I quickly figured out the L brackets were 2 big for the box and I decided to take the box down to look it over further. As I did that I noticed the vent on top actually created a double roof piece, which Mitch had cut through both pieces to create the airway for the box vent. Out went the L bracket idea and straight up went the all thread. One drilled hole, washers and nuts on both side and the job was complete.
The pics are kinda deceptive, but if you have a Krivoman blind, you will understand the Ozonics is way up high and very much out of the way.
I spin the Ozonics on about 6 time or so and can swivel it as needed for wind direction. I can also remove the battery with it still mounted if I plan to come back to that set on the next hunt. I put one in each blind, so moving my Ozonics is very simple now. I know the description is kinda long winded, but it turned into a very simple solution and I didn't have to drill a hole in the exterior shell.
Gonna jump on Tapatalk now and post some pics.
