    Is 223,000mls to much?

Trying convince the wife I need a newer truck I bought I've had this for 11 years now bought it brand new. She's against it for some odd reason I keep telling her it could go down any day now and if it does I won't get anything for it at all. Its not the engine giving me issues but components that are going out what's yalls thoughts?

The lowest mileage vehicle we have is 152k. We've got up to 450k (need to replace the head gasket but everything else is fine) with 2-3 cars in between with no problem

What is it? Not trying to start a brand war here, but I know guys that drive their Chevys 300-400k before they die.

My F-150 will be 11 this spring and I have a little over 200K mi. Understand about "stuff" happening as it's got me good this year...
It's still cheaper than a note but not as reliable. Also hear around here that the new trucks barely make it off the lot. Toss up I guess...

How about you skip the permission part and just go get yourself a new truck bud?

Its a 04 Chevy Z71. I don't want new just newer and new to me I have all but one of my debts paid off. But I worried about making it to work if it bites the dust. And yes I thought about dropping my boys and just go getting me one but the roof would blow off my house followed by a giant mushroom cloud.

Better to ask for forgiveness then permission. Get a new one. It's your truck.

I would rather have a truck with 200k plus miles that I knew everything about than one with 100k that I had no clue about

I traded in 05 same truck with 208k last year for same reasons you are wanting to. Tough to give up no payments but yours will still have some value as a trade in. Doesn't hurt to shop it around and see what your options are.

When the cost of maintaining this one costs more than a truck payment then I'll consider a new one.

We have a chevy 6.0 gas with 385k, chevy 5.3 with 150k and a ford 7.3 with 270k. All run great little problems here and there with the two gas engines but not enough to worry about

I would buy a new one. I put 160k on my last one and just bought a new one and hope to put at least that many on it!!

Go price a new one 223000 might not seem so bad.
