I hunted with a guy on a place southwest of Columbus that had home made pit blinds. You pretty much sat on the ground and your feet went in the pit. The top was made out of expanding foam triangle panels. He laid chicken.wire in the panel.frame before pouring and used 4 panels to make a dome. Only had 2 windows and each window had shoot through mesh.

I used to dig holes big enough to fit my double bulls in in South Texas on day leases. Also in high school I built a homemade pit blind in Lee county that sucker was shooting upward at 5 yards.

My Dad and I built one in South Texas. Dug about a two foot hole, maybe 8’ in diameter, used concrete wire and a tarp. The tarp I purchased had one side that was black. We used the dirt ledge in the back to sit on. Plenty big for three people. It was a hand feed spot. It was nice if someone drove you in there, spun the tailgate feeder and left.

I’ve hunted out of Ranch Kings in South TX and they are great.

The ranch owner painted them white to help reflect heat, as they were too toasty during early season.

            blind

I built this one from a round hay bale holder and some roofing tin. It's cool to be ground level with the deer

Do they get really muddy when it rains?

Man this is cool! I have wanted to hunt out of one since the first time I saw one! Maybe one day I will get to hunt deer again!

I have seen a few of underground blinds , they were very nice, they had dome tops covered with brush ( like a bunker or pill box) all were bow blinds , bet you could make one out of a old poly water tank

I would think a Krivo blind with higher than normal windows would work great

I used to be on a lease in Eden,tx where they had water cisterns in the ground. It was very cool hunting them.
