I'm just coming off surgery for a SLAP tear and small cuff tear. Depending on how old you while more than likely determine how your surgeon elects to fix it. If you are younger(<35), your surgeon may decide to repair your tear. This is a tough rehab and takes a ton of work at PT. If you are a touch older they will usually do a biceps tenodesis. The rehab is much quicker for this option. Good luck with your recovery

I second the recliner comment. I lived in it at night with a ton of ice and pillows

          This is very typical.
Should just need Arthroscopic surgery to fix.
Ask your Anesthesiologist to do an Inter-scalene block, it will keep you comfy for several hours.
Ice backs, or a ice flush system and pad ( polar ice system) and a recliner for a few days to sleep in are your friend.

Well just saw dr and he said no surgery due to location of tears. he Shot me up with cortisone and prescribed PT. He said he couldn't justify surgery at this point. good nees I guess but I told him I am screwed next year due to new deductible.

That's good news. I think I might get a second opinion just to be sure especially if you had a dislocation.

Shoulder surgery should be last result. Hard to recover from. Try the therapy first.

Since I can't have your stuff, give us an update on that shoulder! Did the shots help?
