My wife and I are looking for new pots and pans. The stoneware stuff caught my eye but I don't know much about it. Only musts are nonstick and dishwasher safe. Any ideas or opinions? We are looking to spend around $200 or so. We found a really large set at HEB that was awesome quality but it was solid stainless and wasn't non stick. Please help.

Your non stick cookware well last much longer if you keep it out of the dishwasher. Pots and pans are easy to hand wash, so I wouldn't worry too much about having to be dishwasher safe. We were given a set of Rachel Ray cookware around 7 years ago and it has been great. I just make sure no metalware is used when cooking and no dishwasher.

Go to a restaurant supply store and buy heavy bottom non stick pans. you should be able to get two sizes (all you will ever need) for about $75.00 or less.
If you use wooden utensils, you will never need to wash them, much less put them in a dishwasher. A rage will wipe them out completely.

I have a set of old Wolfgang Puck stainless cookware, I got it about the time I bought my first house (15 years ago).
The skillets lasted a couple of years, the sauce, sautee and dutch oven pans have held up really well.
I was given some All Clad pans for Christmas one year. The saucepan was fantastic, I still have it and use it often. The omelet pan was the stickinest darn thing I have ever seen. Absolutely nothing would stop food from sticking to it. Sprays, oils, even bacon grease did not help. It found its way into the recycle bin.
Currently, we are using some Calphalon ceramic coated fry pans. They work great. Slipperiest surface I have ever had in a pan, you gotta be careful when stirring or flipping, stuff will slide right over the edge!
We don't have a dishwasher, so everything lasts a long time being hand washed.
I'd love to own a nice copper cookware set, they sure are pretty. I'm not enough of a chef to justify the cost though.

they are pricey but all we use is le creuset and lodge cast iron. The creuset is enamel coated cast iron, they are very heavy but have a lifetime warranty and should last forever. Lodge also has enamel coated cast iron. Seriously after using cast iron i will never go back, it cooks so much better and can be used on any heat source, it just takes a few more precautions such as no dishwasher.
