Anyone ever used Texas Timber Frames

Company is out of Boerne and does larger timber frame structures. Jen and I are building a lake house on Lake Livingston and are looking at this company to help build the great room. Does anyone on the GS have any history with them or know anything about them. They look as if they do beautiful work, but I don't know anybody in this field and I'm hiring blind. I hate that. Any help would be appreciated.

Timberlyne is the premier builder of custom and pre-designed homes, barns, commercial and event buildings and more.

Everything is pegged in tight and cut precise. They are beautiful pieces of work. Good friend of mine just sold his part of the ownership of the TTF. They have an awesome showcase of their work on 46 here in Boerne

Not familiar with them but agree it looks like beautiful work. Only lake house I ever had on Livingston was made by Fleetwood in the early 90's. Look forward to the build pics, bump for you.

When you get it built and want to catch a fish on that lake let me know. I've fished 4 tournaments on that lake and won all 4.

I worked with them on a project this summer. They built the timber frame for an old style wooden bridge. We did the steel understructure and water feature and the 3" beam decking on top of the rails. They set the bollisters and we decked around them. Then they put up the frame. We came back and put the rafters and roof on when they were done. Quite a project. They had their stuff together and were no problem to work with. Even had a couple angle braces that had to be altered on site with chisels. I will try to attach a couple pictures just give me a bit.
They also did the timber frame for the 5000 sq ft party barn on the same property that we did all the woodwork in last year. Again they had their stuff together and no problem to work with. Both jobs were mortise and tenon joinery and looked great.

Is this the one with Larry MArgarita or Margaritor....something like that?

If so PM me I have experience and would be willing to elaborate.

That's good to hear. We're building a pretty big house, but the only part that they'll be involved in is the great room. It's a 40'x50' room with 20' side walls and a 31' vaulted ceiling. Big fireplace on one end with giant folding doors on each side of the fireplace that look out onto the lake. That room is going to be a huge undertaking. It's a big room and is going to have some really big beams....18"tall by 10" wide. I can't wait to get started, and I'm glad to hear that others have worked with them.

I've not come across that name in any dealings that I've had with them. I'll ask and if so, I'll get with you.

The party barn I mentioned has two of the "Great Room" style rooms you described. They are totally capable.
I have no idea about how competitively priced they are as I am not in on that end of things.

Curt, revisiting this thread to see if you ended up using Texas Timberframes for your great room.

My wife and I have recently bought land at Lake Livingston and are considering a timber frame when we build.

Any and all feedback is appreciated as we're researching our options and like what we've seen on their website.

                              Thanks!
