    Behrends Deer Feed/Protien question

Looking through some protein at the feed store and ran across this stuff. What does the GS think? It's from a feed store in luckenbauch I believe.

We feed this and have been happy with it. The deer seem to like it and eat a lot of it though I can't compare it to any other protein for you.

$13/bag I have been paying 12.95 for antler max. And I have to drive to get it. This is right here in dripping springs close to where I live

Good feed. We use the 17% and they tear it up. We buy ours in Harper its about 11$/bag.

The only thing I notice is the high fiber content. A lot of the other big name feeds are going to fall in the 11-13% fiber range for deer not in a breeder pen situation. You normally see a higher fiber % in feeds designed for deer without much natural forage, thus they need more fiber in their rumens.

Shoot... 90% of the time in Texas there isn't much natural forage. I went back by there and they were closed. Guess I'll have to wait till the next fill up. However I did try something newish. I bought West Feeds 20% Deer Pellets. $10.90 a bag. I'll take a pic of the label after while.

I have been feeding this on our ranch for about 3 years. it seems to work well. Also is the price they are quoting you from the feed store in Luchenbauch. Thats where we get ours and we are only paying $10.20 a bag for the 20%.

Have you seen a noticeable improvement during the 3 years? Everything I have read says it takes at least 3 years for any protien to work.
