I have not gone public with this info, but the time is right for me to do so. My son (shown in the first picture) shot his first buck last year with his grandpa at 8 years old. I knew I was going to mount this thing for him no matter the size, it turned out to be a beautiful deer. I gave it to a good friend, because I knew he has had great work done on his mounts, to get it shoulder mounted for me. He also had his kid (2nd picture) shoot a beautiful axis close to the same day, so he took both to the same guy. I have been asking for this mount for months and we kept getting the run around. Finally a couple of months ago we get some not so good info. The taxidermist and his brother got in a huge fight and the brother locked him out of his shop so he could not get to the mounts. The taxidermist had more than just our mounts in there. I believe a restraining order was put on both of them by each other and we are without our horns. We have tried several times to get the horns back and have not been successful. We got a judge to sign over a search warrant because the brother will not let anyone get their stuff. One person filed a lawsuit against them a month ago and won. I got a game warden involved and he went by there yesterday and there was no mounts to be found, but some illegal items where. Info was given on the possibility of where the mounts could be, but I feel as though they have been trashed or sold. I am asking for your help; that if you see these horns for sale anywhere or anywhere else, please let me know. I do not care about the money I have spent already to have the work done. I just want the horns back. Thanks to all in advance for any help you provide. (you may see this floating around Facebook)

Where is the shop located and who is the taxidermist? This info might help get you in contact with others on here who might be in the same situation with the guy.
Just going by the threads on TexasBowhunter over the years, it seems like taxidermist and independent archery shops must have a pretty high rate of business failures. Unfortunately a lot of folks get screwed over with lost trophies and lost deposits when a taxidermist fails.
Hope you at least get your son's antlers back.

Man that sucks for you and your boy. Beautiful animal right there. I hope you find the antlers. Just in case you don't, have you ever considered having the picture printed on a large canvas and having that framed and hung on the wall? I know it's not the real deal, but could still look really nice and display the memory on the wall.
Good luck with the search.
