This whole hog trapping isn't working out

I've had the trap out and baited for over a month now and nothing. I have not set the trap just baited it so they can move in and out and nothing has gone in. What makes it worse is they have been rooting around not 10 yards from the trap on and off for the last 2 weeks and still no action.

I'm not real sure what I'm doing wrong.

Most folks make the mistake of putting corn all around the trap.

Just put corn on the inside.

That's what I have done. I put the most of it in the middle towards the back, with just a little by the door.

Go get some strawberry jelly in the squeeze jar and put it on the corn usually works! I am fixing to get mine set as soon as I can get some time off to be able to check it.

            It gets aggravating at times.

              Cage trap?

I'd try adding another attractant. Jello, vanilla, soured corn.

We use to brush ours in and throw lots of fresh dirt inside. We used stinky corn or vanilla corn for bait.

Once we caught hogs we would take out the bloody dirt and throw more fresh dirt inside.

                  Hogs are very smart critters.

I have tried a couple different things so far.

                    Sour corn
                    Sour corn with vanilla
Sour corn with strawberry jello and big red
                    Regular corn
                    Regular corn with vanilla
And today I just dumped a pouch of C'mere deer corn coat

Guess I will see if that does the trick.

Another thing you might try if you can find it is rice bran I have a pic somewhere of a big hog laying down eating it.

Your trap might be too small. Or your pigs are not hungry enough to go in. Several different factors could be involved.
