Worked fine for me doing the manufacturer's recommendation of the brake booster, but if the TB worked for y'all, good deal.

As for the knock, everyone says that but usually when you're completely done it's fine. You gotta figure that trying it out you're more worried that something is wrong.

For those that say don't use it in the oil, why? What proof of harm has anyone come across, and I don't mean Jim Bob's YouTube video of doom...? I'm just curious since they sell the product and have tested it to see what is ok and not ok for the engine, wouldn't you trust their knowledge? Just my $0.02

I have a 5.3L Z71 with 200K miles. The guy I called at SeaFoam said I needed to use the spray, not the liquid, and I needed to use their little red curvy strake to spray it into the intake while idling high. I did that. Lots of white smoke.

8 months later, zero change in gas mileage and zero change in how it runs (it ran fine before, so I'm not complaining).

Agreed. Putting it in the crank case is going to help break up deposits and thin out and break up any sludge that might be built up in your oiling system. I would recommend putting a half a can in about 300-500 miles before performing the top end treatment, then change your oil and spark plugs. Don't put it in at the oil fill up and run it for 3K miles, but it wont hurt anything to put a little in the oil prior to a change to get all that bad stuff broken up.

I due to get an oil change this Saturday. Should I put a little bit in now?

I've never heard of anyone putting it in their oil. My buddy uses it religiously. Every time he does an oil change he puts Seafoam in his fuel tank.

Wouldn't hurt, unless you plan on going much more than 500 miles or so. Ive usually only run mine a couple hundred with it in there before changing it.

Read the page on the link, and watch the 60 second video on the bottom left of the page. Both say you can use in the crank case. 1.5 oz per quart of oil is what they recommend, so about a half a can for the old 5.3.

We have SMOKE! Smoked pretty good, but not like some of the videos. I drove it around for about 20 minutes and no more smoke. Full tank of gas. I will see if this improved the idle. Throttle response seems better.

Not to Hijack your post Timm, but does any one have one preference over one additive than the other when it comes to fuel additive?

I usually run a bottle of Lucas Oil Fuel Injector Cleaner through with a full tank of premium gas after each oil change. I use seafoam on every tank of gas on my boat but have never used it in my truck.

So hows the ticking? Didn't you say it was ticking at one point? Sorry, Im too lazy to look back and re-read the beginning.

Ticking is gone and the idle seems to be a lot better. Will be watching it and checking fuel mileage on this tank and the next. I going to treat the mini van next. It's got some high mileage and we are the 3rd owner.

I run it in all my vehicles after an oil change. My wifes cube seems to run smoother when it is in the fuel but it does not run bad without it. I just run it in the gas not in the breather system.

I use Seafoam in ANY fossil burner. Truck, golf cart, lawn mower, weed eater, pressure washer, etc, etc. It's a great product.
