    Hogs and deer...at same time.

A little while back...there was a thread (think it got whacked for an unrelated reason)..that had someone adamantly arguing that deer and hogs Would never..could never be at a feeder at the same time.
I thought this was strange since I've seen it a ton of times...both in person and in trail cam pics...and went ahead and posted a pic of a dead hog under a feeder with deer eating around it.

I was told that the key point in this picture was that the hog was "dead".
(He was alive when he got ear holed next to that deer up front in the pic..but that didn't sway opinion that I was in fact, hallucinating the whole thing)

Some others that have also witnessed this impossible phenomenon also posted their testimony.
I happen to be going over the trail cam pics from this past weekends collection from the ranch and found a recent occurrence of my hallucinations.

    Anyone else got pics?

No pics on hand, but have seen deer feed next to pigs, but I have also seen deer spoked by pigs.

Only an inexperienced hunter might assume that they'd not dine together. They clear do and will.

I see it almost every time I hunt. Only time I see deer move off is when there is a mass number of pigs.

Nope. Trained deer and sedated hog.

I had several pics of deer and hogs together this year in east Texas.

Kind of cool having pics of them together when we hear hunters complain that the hogs are running off all the deer.

Thankfully, we have not been invaded by hogs yet on our place out west, but we do have plenty of javelina and deer and javelina do not mix very well. We do occasionally see the two at a feeder together, but generally, if the javelina are there in small numbers, maybe 1 or 2, deer will sometimes come in, cautiously and keep their distance. However, if the deer are at the feeder and javelina come in pretty much every time, the deer will leave and often like they've been shot at.

At our property in Liberty county, pretty much the same thing happens with hogs. Deer will sometimes come in after the hog or maybe 1 or 2 hogs are in, but our deer will take off at the first sign of hogs coming in if the deer are there first. I have been hunting this same property in Liberty county for over 10 years, and have never had the opportunity to choose whether to shoot a deer or a hog at a feeder during a sit. Does it happen, of course it does, but I've personally never seen it, and am not aware of any of our other hunters having a similar opportunity to choose.
