Another touching show of support for LEOs, with a funny twist

I didn't want to hijack the other thread about supporting our awesome LEOs, so I'll post this here. Earlier today, a friend of mine posted this on another friend's facebook page. This other friend is an officer here in the APD. Great guy. Her message....

"Police officers have really taken a "hit" lately. With the Ferguson protests, the Rams' "hands-up" protest, the President's retraining proposition, and Holder's recent comments, it is clear that your chosen vocation is getting more dangerous every day. I think I can safely say that MOST Americans still deeply respect officers, and admire your courage. Thank you for your service, your dedication, and your sacrifice in keeping us safe. (and for the record, your'e my favorite)"

About 4 hours later, our LEO friend posted this:

I love my job. Or at least I did until about an hour ago. Dadgummit.

I asked what happened, and he said....

The most unpleasant part of my job, writing a ticket to someone I know. And love.

Then the lady that posted the original post (who has another daughter still at home that recently started driving) said this...

I'm glad you love her. That little girl was very distraught! (Her dad) said you were really nice. Lessons come the hard way sometimes

I know that my LEO friend hated having to do his job today, of all days and with all people especially. I also know that my other friend that loves him doesn't feel any differently at all this evening than she did earlier today when she posted that. Funny, sad, and awesome....all at the same time.

There doesn't seem to be any shortage of ways to make a police officer's job difficult. God bless all you LEOs out there.

By the way, the girl was involved in a fender bender, not just speeding. Apparently there wasn't an option to just write her a warning. My friend had to write her a ticket whether he wanted to or not.
