So my girlfriends grandmother passed away last May, her mom is handling the estate and has offered to sell me her old house for cheap. It is a modular made in the late 1970's. Her late husband took very good care of the home, it is in probably 90% shape. There are 2 little soft spots in the floor and I do have experience fixing those so not to worried about those. My question is more of if I do buy the home it is on a decent lot in a decent neighborhood but I think I would rather try to buy a couple of acres and move it. Is a modular that old worth moving? How much does something like that run? Or should I just stay on that lot and put away a lot of money into savings for 2-3 years then have a large down payment for a home on a couple of acres? I'm kind of leaning towards the last one but if the cost to move is low enough it might be worth that. I have to make my decision in the next month so I'm stressing a little.

3500-4000 to move it usually within 150 miles. I have lived in one I moved and sold others that have been moved and the are fine. They will most likely have to weld the tongue back on if it's been removed but that is common place. A mobile is what it is, you will have to repair walls occasionally etc... From being moved but most of the time it is very minor.
