    What was TxDOT thinking?

There are some extra traffic lights installed at the Bucees outside of Luling, right off of 35. Since they've been in use (about a month) I've been stuck at this intersection for 20 minutes 3 times already. Prior to their installation I was caught at the intersection for 2 red lights at the most.

The lights look like they were put up so people could get out of Bucees easier. I know I'll never stop at Bucees here ever again, not that I stopped here much anyways. I had plenty of time to post all the while stuck at this intersection. Rant over

And there's your problem. 35 doesn't go through Luling. I-10 does. You were lost.

      LOL.

OP - I feel ya. Both I-10 and I-35 are getting downright ridiculous these days.

There's just getting to be too **** many people in Texas these days.

I use the feeder road when I exit bucees to head west. Simply ut urn they the lights. Of course, not on holiday weekends
        Thanks for the heads up

They put those extra lights in for all the idiots who exit Buccee's, then continue east toward Houston.
They would pull out in front of people traveling south on 183, northbound turning left into Buccee's, and people northbound going straight.
All because they were too stupid to exit onto the feeder road and simply go straight through the original light.

IMO, TxDOT would have done much better if they would've installed a raised median and/or delineaters(sp), creating a "no left turn" coming out of Buccee's.

Or they at least need to synchronize the lights for people going straight thru on 183, both south and north bound.
If you get stopped at the first light, the 2nd light will usually be red by the time you get to it. Then the 3rd light will usually be red by the time you get to it.
I've gone through that intersection 10 times since the lights were activated, 5 northbound and 5 southbound. I've hit all 3 lights green only once. I ran the first light when it was yellow, changing to red as I passed under it.

Haha yea, your right! I meant 10, but I was thinking of 35 since that's the road that runs through San Marcos (where I was headed).

I agree, any of those ideas would have been a much better idea and allow traffic to flow better. However, they of course chose to go with the worst option

Couldn't have said it better myself. I go through there on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoon and I've caught it backed up when it wasn't a holiday weekend.
