Well I lost my first deer yesterday morning and it's not easy to deal with. When I recovered my arrow I realized he was farther than I thought when I took the shot, but the arrow looked good and even though I knew I shot low I figured I still hit vitals. After tracking him for about a half mile we bumped him and backed out for a few hours and looked at some video of the shot. I came to the conclusion that I caught the bottom of the brisket... We went back and bumped him again then lost the blood trail. I'm very confident he will live simply because he was going strong after 2 mi and almost straight up a mountain when we lost blood, but it's still a hard pill to swallow!
