Just got to my location for this evening. Found my pop up crumbled from the cows, so I am backed up to a nearby cedar, 50 yards out with my lever gun in 44. Can't use the bow till my drawing elbow wants to behave. Been seeing a beautiful 11 poi the at this location. Been letting him walk cause I think he's 3 1/2. Would like to see him walk another 2 years. I'm on 1000 acres so that of walnut spring. Anyone in the area having a good year? Haven't seen pigs since May, used to be covered up with them.

You're right. 22 days is the cycle time for a doe. I hunt in Bosque county near Cranfills Gap and we saw rut activity this afternoon.Comment

Good luck! I've been hunting my Bosque grounds hard since archery opener. Seen nothing even close to being a shooter. Seeing little bucks chasing right nowComment

We saw hard rutting last week, not much since. Shot this dude on the 15th trailing a doe. We also hunt between Clifton and the Gap.
