This thread reminded me of a conversation I had with a couple of my old high school friends who went off the deep end while in Austin.

They tried to convince me that "white guilt" is exactly how all white people should conduct business in order to have a fair economic system. They maintained their position simply because of emotionally charged accusations of white supremacy starting the country and white Wall Street. They had no response when I clearly and definitively stated that there are more opportunities for blacks (not African Americans) in America than ever before. The laws are on the books, and these laws have now been used to spin the table to a point where it is difficult for white folks to have the same opportunity when given the same or better circumstances.

Case in point: college admissions. A white male with a 4.0 GPA out of high school and numerous extracurricular activities to load the resume stands little chance against the black student who has a 3.0 and just so happens to be the last person needed to fill the school's quota. The white kid now has to find a different college because someone with lower credentials just so happened to be of the correct race to get in. Same can be said for any "minority".

It is sickening what this nation has become. A bunch of race-baiting hate no gets who care nothing for true equality. Rather, they have decided to profit either financially (Al Not-So-Sharpton) or politically (Mr President).
