    Different releases

I currently use a Scott silver horn. Love it without any issues aside from it gets in the way when I'm not shooting. Thought about going to a different release and thumb or back tension releases intrigue me. What are yalls thoughts? What has to change to adapt to them?

With a thumb or hand held release, your anchor and possibly peep location might/will change. I switched several y ears ago to a True Ball Max 4 Pro and have not looked back.

I switched to a thumb release about 2 years ago. I love it. It may change your anchor and peep but it's not a big deal. I feel my form and shooting are much improved. I love being in the stand and having my hands free with release clipped on the string. I also like not having a release strapped to my wrist when I am crawling on hands and knees stalking. I shoot carter chocolate addiction lites but it's pretty big. I would try a few if you can before you buy.

several years ago i switched over to a tru fire 3d hunter, and last year i picked up a tru ball pro diamond extreme. like them both but will tip the edge toward the pro diamond, it has more adjust-ability. best part is you can just clip them on the D loop and let it hang. no more trying to hook up with a wrist strap release when its go time with buck fever. no more accidentally banging the wrist release on the metal stand or metal seat frame when shifting around. no more getting in the way reaching in/out of pockets.

I shoot a TruBall pro diamond. I took off the thumb extension, which made it more compact. Bought a second one as a back up. I really like shooting it better. I just put my release on my d loop and hunt. It's never in the way and I can even shoot my bow left handed if needed with out having to take my release off and swapping arms.
Just my opinion, but I'm glad I switched.

I will say that the first couple shots were troublesome, but I just got better and better as I shot it. Been shooting it now for 5 years.

Stick with the same style but try one that folds back when not using it. They're pretty handy
