    How long can you safely keep a pig on ice before freezing or cooking?

        I've kept hog meat in an ice chest for 3 days before freezing. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with keeping it longer than that...that's just when I normally get around to messing with it again.

          2 weeks easy with water drained and meat covered in ice.

            Water drained and ice on top...A couple weeks with no problem
