I reading a book: Whitetail Advantage, it mentioned biological influence on them that led to being nocturnal also, especially after they loose velvet.....

Our deer are ignoring the feeders and hitting the wheat fields during normal hunting times. They will go to the feeders sometime during the night to clean up the corn but may leave a feeder alone for a day or so. By the end of deer season, I don't even expect to see a mature deer on the wheat during daylight hours. That part has been consistent from year to year. My deer hunting is usually pretty much over by Thanksgiving each year. It gets increasingly hard to bowhunt past the first couple of weekends in the general season and that is when I have to switch to a rifle if I expect to have a shot.

Do you have any wheat or oats growing where you hunt? That is where I would be,early in the morning and late in the evening, this time of year.
