    The Chisholm Trail

The Chisholm has always held great interest to me. I've spent time at Kimball Bend and looked at the old ruins and the old photographs of the ferry that was used on the Brazos.

I haven't researched the areas further south in Bosque County where it crossed. Had no idea the trail crossed by Fort Graham which is now under Lake Whitney. So much history to learn.

I've seen the outdoor museum near the lake at Cleburne but haven't stopped to check it out.

Has anyone on here researched the Chisholm?

Known points, locations and crossing of Texas feeder trails that converged in Fort Worth, then north to Red River and onto Chisholm Trail in OK/KS. Most if not all of these were the main trails hooking up with the Chisholm Trail. (not the Western Trail) Blue bubbles = known locations of trails Green tacks = candidate gravel roads Camera = points of interest

I know Hwy 287 was the replacement for it as the road system became more civilized and advanced.
