Very large snake eats deer

Austin has a wild population of parrots. Flock is growing quickly. Lots of other exotic species are flourishing as well.

Thought snakes swallowed head first? The deer looks like it was swallowed backwards...

I don't know if that is true or not. In Nam after a fire fight we were searching for KIAs and WIAs when we came up on a python trying to swallow a gook from the head down. He was to the shoulders but I don't think he was big enough to make it pass them. He was only about 10 or 12 feet long.

Years later I saw a documentary that said the only way they could swallow a human was feet first due to the way the shoulders would fold back.

Just what I saw and read. I really don't know.

I just wonder if he does get in how is he getting back out? Are they going to gut the snake just to free him and if so I wonder how that will go over with the world that he put himself there and the snake dies for it.

I dont see how is not going to get crushed first. That's what they do, constrict then eat.

I was watching a NAT GEO episode the other day on snakes. They say if we could dislocate our jaws like snakes as well as the front chin bone separating as snakes do,... we could swallow food the size of a BASKETBALL !!

If you ask my wife, I can swallow food the size of a basketball and not have to do all that other stuff. LoL!

Kill every single one of those dang snakes and every other invasive species. Don't relocate them, kill them. It boils my blood to think about the damage introduced species have done to whitetail and other native animal habitat.
