Skid steer tires on a 15" pick up rim

I have a buddy that has a 2wd Chevy s10 lease ride that is having fits with thorns and flats.

The truck has 205/75/R15 tires on I believe 7" wide rims.

I was wondering if 27 X 8.5 X 15" skid steer tires would work on these rims?
Do the rims need to be split rims for that skid steer tire or can they get these tires on on his S10 rims?

I googled the stock rims and they are 7" wide. I googled that size skid steer tire and says the fit on a 7" wide rim. Both stock and skid steer tires are about 27" diameter.

Am I missing something?

I dont think skid steer tires will fit, but could be wrong. Sounds like he needs graphite in his tires, it works better than slime or sealant.

I believe the bead will be a lot different.

They're heavy. I was given a set several years ago on ford rims, but never ran them.

You might look into these. Probably cheaper & a bit lighter.

It will just be just to run around the lease and keep from fixing flats all the time. He will get over the rough ride. No on road use..would be illegal anyway I think.

This! There is also a place in Wharton that sells used airplane tires for almost any application. No flats! I used to run them on my quail Mutts and they are tough!

They will fit, but that S10 wont want to turn them. Like mentioned above, they are heavy. Ive seen them on the back of a Dodge 2500 one time. Don't think Ide ever want to run them on the highway. If I were you, Ide look into some retreads, if its just a lase truck.

I've seen folks put ag tires on car rims before, and vice versa.

Call an industrial tire shop, and confirm it.

Wonder if that would work on my mini truck?............ They don't make regular MT truck tires small enough(23/8.5/12), and ATV tires aren't rated for much weight.

Can you find some 8 or 10 ply tires that fit? Rims are cheap at a wrecking yard, and you might find some with heavy duty tires on them that will fit.
My truck has load range E tires and I've never had a flat. I run through cactus, however I try to avoid the mesquite and locust, but I've ran over some of them too.

I haven't looked, but he said they didn't have much for a 15"'rim. Told him he may need to step up rim size. He was looking at high ply trailer tires, but told him sidewall punctures may be an issue.

That's what they told me too. Then I asked they guy if he could get Deestone tires. He said yeah, I think so. I told him the model # that i found on he internet, & he looked it up. sure enough, he could get them. I was shaking my head.
