Need to get Carhartt Bibs hemmed?

    All,

I was able to score some Carhartt insulated bibs at academy for 18.88, smoking deal. The only issue is the inseam is 34 and I am a 32.

Does anybody know a tailor/sewing shop around Houston/Katy that can hem the legs? My wife would do it but the material is too thick.

    Thanks!

My cleaners has a seamstress that does work for customers. Might try a cleaners in your area.

That is heavy stuff. Many tailors and seamstresses just don't have the equipment to sew anything that heavy.

You may look for a awning and tarp shop, if they can't.

The tricky part will be getting the zippers at the ankle sorted out, but a good person with that skill set should be able to sort it all out with no problem.

      The simplest solution of all:

Add some snaps to the cuff of the pants, so that when snapped the cuff is a little smaller and they can't get caught under your boot heel. For less than $20 in them, I'm sure you can deal with a little bunching around the ankle. You can get rivet type snaps at any fabric and craft store. A mallet and a drift to install them.

Were they the only pair or did they have all marked down? If they're all marking them down, that means I need to make an academy run...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I picked them up during the spring time. I was shocked when I saw them. I like the snap idea, could be a decent solution. I may look for a boat cover/canvas shop too.

Don't think that will help me grow another two inches in height, nor help me continue to fit in the waist section.

But with that being said I can never turn down good barbacoa.
