    Aftermarket Backup Camera?

Has anyone ever installed or had any experience with any of the aftermarket backup cameras that hook into an aftermarket stereo? I am looking at installing one in my truck, but Im not sure which ones to look at, which ones to stay away from, and which ones are a good deal or are junk. I have found them priced anywhere from $16 - $100+. Im working on a budget so I don't want to pay out the nose, but I don't want one that is gonna crap out on me in a month or so. I also don't want to make it too conspicuous so that any would-be thief would know that I have an expensive radio in the truck and attempt to steal it.

Ive seen the kind that mount to the license plate, and also found some that mount in a hole drilled in the bumper. Im kinda leaning toward the later, but I don't know. If anyone has any input, please post it up.

I install several different ones, but none go into the stereo. We install them into the mirror or into a separate monitor. You'll have to figure out what plug the stereo and camera have.
Depending on what vehicle you have there are other options on how to mount the camera. For Fords there is a camera mounted in the emblem that you can change out on the tailgate of trucks. Some are in the handle of the tailgate. Just depends on the vehicle.

I install and don't do much with the pricing, but I believe this system with the emblem installed is about $600.

You should be able to get a factory dodge one. All it is is a new tail gate latch assembly. Truck is already prewired. Mine didn't have that option but I made them install it. There was nothing to it. Just take off tail gate latch and install one with camera. That is if you have the touch screen radio already.
