I hunted it several years ago, no bow hunting allowed. You will have to shoot your rifle in front of Mr. Carter before you can hunt. If I recall, there is not a single feeder on the ranch, they have a feed route they follow every day, no matter what, every single day. Deer will be standing there waiting on the truck. Unbelievable deer.
I have hunted the Sambrito with Mr. Carter before, you will really enjoy seeing the great deer he has. Take you a camera and enjoy your hunt....You will see hundreds of deer each sitting....the problem is finding the one you want to shoot.....Mr. Carter is really a fine gentleman....

I tried to let him shoot my bow...no deal...they will put you with a guide and he will tell you what you can shoot or if you want to pay extra the guide will tell you what to shoot....it is all about the money....I got to take a management buck
(scores up to 140")..took three days to find one that small...there are some monsters out there....if you get a chance to do it, Mr. Carter asked me on the last morning to go with him to his private section to feed his deer, man you wouldn't believe the giants we saw that morning...his section is bucks scoring 180+ and most are non typical...of course all high fence....the guides will take you out in the morning and no talking is allowed. They don't even turn on the headlights in the truck going out or coming in after dark....
The first evening we went out, we went to a tower stand, and the feed truck came up about 5 minutes after we settled in, they fed a 50/50 mixture of Purina protein and corn 200 yards either side of the stand, and then fed about 20 lbs. of the same mixture in a trough in front of the blind.....by the time the truck left there had to be 100 deer in front of us and most were bucks scoring 150"+.....did I say take a camera and a telephoto lens....you will get a ton of pictures...all the food that the truck fed was gone in two hours...Also they didn't want any does or culls shot as he lets his employees come out to harvest does and culls....
Good luck on the hunt. Sounds like a great opportunity.
Thanks!
Thank you everyone else who chimed in! I know it may be futile but I am still going to talk with Mr. carter about arrowing one of these deer! If not, no biggie! I plan to shoot a lot of pictures also!!
Good luck man!!
Aunt and Uncle go every year.. pull some silver and golds ..
Wouldnt hold your breath on the bow ..but worth a shot..worst he can say is NO (unless you tick him off and he has you kicked off the property..or worse..hits you with a shovel and then buries you out there...)
Good luck man.. BRING A CAMERA
