Threw a party for my youngest daughter and didn't think everyone would be gone with enough time to go out and sit last Saturday. Well I was able to join my brother with about 1.5hrs left of light in our tower blind. Brought the smoke poles on this sit.
About 30 mins into the hunt we see "gimpy" about 1200 yards out on neighbors place, he could go any direction but starts toward us, at about 500 yard we see him limp and know exactly what buck this is, we can tell he might just make 13 wide this year. Gimpy is 4.5, we were hoping to get him last year but he did not show.
My brother says its my call if I want him and I take him up on it. What seemed like an eternity goes buy, but gimpy finally jumps fence on to my place. Once clear of some brush my brother lets out a grunt to stop him. Gimpy made it about 30 yds and piled up.
The next morning, we decide to sit in same spot due to bad weather and again take the smoke poles. 150 lb boar comes by about 100 yds out. Had to get him to stop 3 separate times before my brother could make him out in the scope. This was first light.
Was a great weekend shared with my brother / best friend!
Wish I could have been posting this in the bow hunting section. I hunted HARD with a bow and it just didn't come together. But you know, sharing the experience together with my bro wasn't bad either.
Wish he would have not broken the brow and also the G3 but still not a bad little guy. He measured in at 13.0000000000 wide lol
