Weird Season

Jerp, no luck last weekend in Cisco? I put a doe decoy out and had 4 different bucks come in to check her out. Saw a few does also.

Yeah, this is my first year to hunt there - I didn't have time to do much pre-season scouting and I'm still trying to get the lay of the land. I know they are around - on Saturday the neighbor to the west showed me some really impressive buck pics from his TCs. I just need to figure out where they are going and when. We have two feeders running but I have yet to find any well defined deer trails across the place - they seem to just wander around.

I am the exact opposite, I have more bucks and animals at my place than ever.

I am with you, I am covered with deer every time I go out... This was not always the case.

Ya'll just hang tight a little longer and it will change. The recent "good" freezes we have had coupled with the rains putting moisture in the acorns and the forage was enough to start souring acorns and killin green forage. I got a feeling that by this weekend or next at the latest people are gonna start seeing more game. I had a herd of pigs pass up my corn this last weekend which tells me they got plenty of something else to eat somewhere else. That's all about to change.
