He is a monster in the water. Incredible performances. I swam competitively for 5 years and in the peak of our season we were averaging 14,000 yards (not meters like he does!!) per day. My Mom was going ape. I was drinking a gallon of milk EVERY day and I ate (no joke) 5 full meals a day. Not little snacks; I mean 5 regular sit-down meals every day. We were in the water at 5:30am, swam until 7:30, then back in the water at 2:30 and finshed at 5:30. It was intense. In my Junior year at J.J. Pearce I also ran a marathon and could tick off a mile run in 4:51. I was in the best shape of my life.
The swimmers nowadays make our workouts look like nothing. The training techniques for this sport have elevated to an astromical level. The physical abilities of these athletes are absolutely incredible.

Personaly Tiger should now be referred to as the Michael Phelps of Golf,
Think about it, Tiger competes against mostly fat, lumpy or otherwise out of shape competitors ages up to 45-50 yrs old
Phelps competes against men who are without a doubt some of the best conditioned athletes in the world.
Tiger wins and has won year after year, but how many majors has he won where he bested his previous winning score?
Phelps, every medal he has won so far has come with the bonus of a new world record... most of them his previous own.
Tiger is chasing & breaking records that were made by "old fat guys", 30+ years ago, who used FAR inferior clubs, balls, and less knowledgeable caddies on some pretty horrible golf course condidtions, compared to the manicured courses, titanium, berrilium clubs, and 3 piece low spin, space age balls today.
Phelps is chasing 20+ year old records set by again, the absolute finest in his sport. And the last time I checked, the recipe for swimming pool water has remain unchanged.
Not to mention the fact, I have yet to see a full on live camera shot of Phelps yelling @#$*!! or @#$@*!#IT!!
I play golf, so I can certainly give respect to Wood's game, and was also on the swim team back in school......
Congratulations Michael Phelps, awesome achievements.
