EGR Delete, or replace?? What would you do?

I know the debate has been discussed at length... My truck is paid for, so selling it is not an option. Please keep this civil.

I have a 2003 F-350 with 6.0... Have replaced the gasket's and studs about 18k miles ago. Truck has 211,000 miles on it. Want to get another 250k out of it.

The EGR cooler let go on Sat. Here is the question... If it were your truck, would you delete, or replace with bulletproof parts??

Reason I am asking, there is a possibility, in the future, that the State will require emission testing.

Different breed here, but my 2010 Cummins is deleted. I went the easy way and only deleted the DPF and NOX filters. If the state ever does go to diesel emission testing, Ill just bolt the pipe back up and plug all the sensors back in for testing.

I say delete from what I read. Going to delete mine after the first of the year along with the DPF.

IMO replace with factory parts. I did this with mine 3 years ago and have not had any problems.

It's an 03 so delete it. Emissions will only be on 07.5-up, I've got an 06 will the bulletproof cooler, but that doesn't mean it won't go out. Id just delete it!

You can also have it blocked where the EGR is still there but not operating. I believe they weld a plate on the valve and put it back in place. You should not throw codes on the '03 if you do this or delete it either way.

Trade it in or sell it and get an 7.3. I've had both the 7.3 and an '04 6.0. After putting in ~$6k(215,000mi.) in on the 6.0, I let it go. Prolly could have gotten more, but I was fed up. It had ~220,000 miles on it. Long story on why I had the 6.0. Don't ask.

Have had my 2000, F250 for 13yrs. 295,000 miles. Original tranny...1 injector replaced.

              I hope I haven't jinxed myself.

I try to stay out of these debates!!!

BS, from what I've seen, same cost, I'd do the bulletproof, and don't forget the oil cooler.

I had EGR removed and deleted the cooler. No problems.
