I have a bs degree and don't know what to do with it

Well at the title says I have a bachelors degree in criminal justice and a minor in sociology . I don't know what I want to do with it . It's pretty simple degree and u should think being a cop or something to do with law enforcement right ? Well I'm having a hard time trying to be a cop and was thinking what else I could do with a bs degree in cj . I'm 27 years old and I'm looking for a career and anything would help .

Any tbhers have a good career they can get me on with and make some good money knowing I have a bs in cj I'm willing to relocate as well

A buddy has that degree and he works for a bank, does security assessments and investigates any robberies they have. Don't have to be a cop, plenty of other things you can do in that field.

Most people find the job want while they are currently working at one they didn't think they would ever be doing.

Lots of folks here with a "bs" degree. Unfortunately, it's nothing to do with their education.

Fireman. Way better than being a cop. That's what I do and I have a degree in horticulture.

A lot of the chemical industry is hiring with any degree. I worked with guys who were ex cops, Cpa, school teacher, used car salesmen. They just want to see that you are trainable.

Why is it better than police? I'm sure they may say the same for theirs.

                          Project Management

You should step back and look at what you enjoy.

A good certification that is used in a lot of industries is Project Management. If you're in law enforcement today, look at your portable skills.

And by the way, I don't think you've got a BS degree. I know more people that have lost out on jobs simply because they did not have a degree.

Bob Naggy, a Master Sargent retired Army National Guard (Full-time), had an opportunity to work for a paper company in MS. He had the job hands down. The Company President personally offered him the job. Guess what. He lost the job because the position he was going for required that you had a bachelor's degree.

Richard Coyete was a VP with no degree. 2008 the economy went south and he found out quick the lack of a degree was an achilles heal. He was passed over time and time again for not having a bachelor's degree.

Don't give up on your degree. It can and will open doors for you.
