    What do you do?

Last day (for you) of doe season and you have a nice, fat eat'n doe under your feeder. But wait! Cue big, dark horned textbook 8pt sneaking up on her. What do you do? Which one gets the lead? You haven't seen anything up until today...

I would wait a little bit to see what the buck was going to do, if he does not commit pretty fast, the doe will have heart burn

As a matter of choice, I don`t shoot Doe. Back in the early 50`s I shot a couple.

Since then it`s been Buck`s only. Spikes get a pass as well. As I said, it`s a
        personal choice.

I'm curious to know why. Not trying to start a mgmt debate, but really though. Why?

Thing is, lots of counties (incl. Lee where I hunt) you can't shoot does during rifle season without a management permit.

                  That would suck. Majorly.

Horns first for a sure recovery. Doe on the run or when she stops. Bucks Prolly wouldnt stop after that much racket.

My Dad. He would shoot the Doe. He loved the taste of a Slick Head

Shoot the doe, then shoot the buck when he tries mounting my dead doe.
