    8 point rack missing

My son and I hunted early dec. we shot a small 8, it was the first hunt he was on that we shot a buck. We cut the rack off and put it in an ant hill to get cleaned up. The hill was next to a tree so we tied it off so the rack wouldn't get carried off, since it was in the front yard close to the road. well it came up missing a couple of nights ago.

What did you tie it with and could it have been a loose dog? If it was someone, then they are pretty stupid for taking a rotting, stinking deer head.
Maybe a neighbor was downwind and didn't like the smell??

Ya there are all kinds of posabilitys, if it was rope maybe some thing chewed the rope... but it would not suprise me if someone took it, people will take anything...

That happened to me once. I started asking neighbors who had dogs. I found it underneath the hedges of a neighbor who knew his dog wouldn't do anything like that. Never know. Good luck.

Some people will steal anything. What a shame.

I've had the same thing happen several times. I've gone from using rope to baling twine and now I use cable. Each missing skull happened to reappear in areas where my livestock guardian dogs like to hide their "collectibles". Fortunately they usually just eat the skull and not the antlers before I find them.

Yeah, I hope it wasn't a dog, but better them than someone driving by. I had it tied with 50lb big game monofilament. I tried several times to pull it loose, but couldn't.
