My son has been invited to go goose hunting with a friend. I pulled out his license to make sure he had what he needed. He doesn't have migratory bird stamp. Went to TPWD website to see about buying one and it's not offered. I'm assuming that means he doesn't need one?

Youth need a migratory stamp just like a adult. You can get them at Wal-Mart.Comment

Youth licenses should print out like a super combo minus the fishing of course. They also do not need a federal duck stamp until they are 16Comment

Type 169:$7
Valid for any person, resident or non-resident, under 17 years of age at the date of license purchase. Exempt from state stamp requirements, except for Reptile and Amphibian Stamp. License and state stamp exemptions remain valid for the entire license year
Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp
"Duck Stamp":$17
Required for all waterfowl hunters 16 years of age or older; available at most U.S. Post Offices, TPWD Law Enforcement offices, Austin headquarters and all license retail sales locations. The stamp must be signed on its face by the person using it. Little FYI-if you take your underage kiddo fishing at the coast they don't need a license but they should buy the tag for drum if there is a chance of them catching a keeper. Tag cannot be bought after the fact.Comment
