Hunting all day ?

Well with the rut in full swing I am going to attempt to do an all day sit with the smoke pole on Saturday. If I do not get out for lunch it will be a first for me LOL

When i want to hunt all day.. i go out prepared to sit only for an hour...then i end up sitting all day because nothing shootable comes in... if I go out with the intentions of sitting all day (read: packed with every bit of hunting gear, accessory, food, and essentials I need) ...im usually done 20 minutes after the sun comes up.

Got as close to hunting all day as I ever have last Tuesday. Got down for 2hrs at lunch and right back to stand

Bucks were chasing and made the sit seem lots shorter

Done it many times hunting antelope over water. Sometimes it's brutal ! A good book or my iPad is essential. I've done it a few times deer hunting but it's harder where I hunt because you can't see very far. Gets to be pretty boring sometimes. If the weather is bad or super cold, and I take to the rifle, I can do it ( with a heater and a read ).

It's mind over matter. No matter what, you have to set your mind to do it. If you can just make it till noon the rest is down hill. It's much easier after the time change.

Hunting all day ?

I have tried it 10 plus times thru the years and still didn't see the deer until the normal times. Last year December 6th, we had all the ice, and I didn't go that evening. December 7th, I went that morning and didn't see a thing the morning sit. I checked tc pics and seen that my target buck was there the evening before. I packed a lunch and was back in the stand at 1030am. I seen deer all day long, and my target buck came in. Pic on the way.
