Okay - Change of Plans for Duck Hunting - Looking Around Stuttgart

Okay, so it looks like if I drive to Stuttgart on my way back from St. Louis I am only adding one hour to my trip. So why not stop there, right???????

Anyone have any suggestions for some guides in the area? I am not looking for any fancy heated blinds or anything, I want to hunt Thanks for the help.

I would call Macks, or stop by there. They always know everything that's going on and can direct you/hook you up with whatever you are looking for.

Season doesn't open till weekend before Thanksgiving and probably doesn't get good till Christmas.

I thought the season before the split closed on the 30th. Figured we could hunt the 28th or 29th.

Yea you'll be good to go that weekend it doesn't close til the 30th. Boondocks duck lodge is southeast of Stuttgart. Look'm up and give mike a call. He has some properties around the lodge and also serval others around. Guides have been great and knowledgeable in my experience and want to be sure you get on the birds and have a great trip

Gave Mike a call, thanks for the suggestion. Waiting for a call back. I am amazed at how much people charge for a duck hunt. Wish I could go public, but there is no way I am dragging the boat and decoys to Chicago, then St. Louis, and then back down south.

And it is absolutely good right now the early cold front pushed more and bigger ducks down early usually not seen till later in the year.

Just wanted to say that Boondocks was a bust. When my husband and I walked in the owner Mike never got out of his chair and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The food was decent, and the hunt was lack luster at best. Our guide was a deer hunter and not a duck hunter. We had birds in the area but nothing was even close to thinking about coming into the spread. Just an FYI.
