    China is at it again.

They are the kings of bootlegging crap. From DVD's to warplanes, they are the masters of copying. Now they have copied an exact clone of the F-35 as it stole secrets from one of our contractors. It prolly don't perform like our jets, but it ticks me off, nonetheless.

China's military upstaged the Asian economic summit in Beijing this week by conducting test flights of a new stealth jet prototype, as the White House called on Beijing to halt its cyber attacks.

Demonstration flights by the new J-31 fighter jet -- China's second new radar-evading warplane -- were a key feature at a major arms show in Zhuhai, located near Macau, on Monday.

The J-31 flights coincided with President Obama's visit to Beijing for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit meeting. In a speech and meetings with Chinese leaders, Obama called on China to curtail cyber theft of trade secrets.

China obtained secrets from the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter through cyber attacks against a subcontractor for Lockheed Martin. The technology has shown up in China's first stealth jet, the J-20, and in the J-31. Both of the jets' design features and equipment are similar to those of the F-35.

The Chinese warplanes are part of a major buildup of air power by China that includes the two new stealth fighters, development of a new strategic bomber, purchase of Russian Su-35 jets, and development of advanced air defense missile systems. China also is building up its conventional and nuclear missile forces.

Meanwhile, White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told reporters in Beijing Tuesday that the president would press China's leader Xi Jinping to curb Chinese cyber espionage.

"Cybersecurity, of course, will be an important focus for the president, given some of our concerns related to cybersecurity and the theft of intellectual property," Rhodes said in advance of Obama's meeting Tuesday with Xi.

Well over the years, they, the Chinese have always been imitators and not really innovators. You old enough to remember all the crap they would make in the 50's and 60's?

      I'm 36 so I don't remember, but I've read a bunch over the years.

Only one way to fix that crap and it would cause a lot of whining. Put 'em on the list with Cuba and quit buying their crap. Wouldn't take long before they came around.

If its as well built as the motorcycles, golf carts, lawn mowers, trail cameras, electronics, and 4 wheelers... we have nothing to worry about... it will never make it off the airstrip.

              Substandard metals, materials, and craftsmanship..

The center fuselage and aft resemble the F-22 and the forward a F-35. We get hundreds of cyber attacks every day at LM. Unfortunately some succeed. They hacked us and got some of our technology but not all of it. It may look like ours but it will not perform like ours and even if we gave them an exact duplicate their pilots could not fly against our boys. Besides the Israelis, we have the best fighter pilots in the world.

That whole part of the world is a sewer. I get tired of hearing about the tradition and honor they supposedly hold so dear...they're all cowards as far as I can tell.

Not buying stuff from China is near impossible as a nation. Sure one person can take that initiative but the majority of citizens like cheap, easily accessible products, which many of them come from China. It is a shame they need to piggyback our inventions though.

Well Obama asked them to curb their stealing so I'm sure we won't hear about this again.

That's right! Our fearless leader has spoken. I'm sure they are scared.

Clinton had some of his Chi-com buddies at Los Alamos with full access to top secret stuff back in the 90s too.

China may copy to the inch but I know in oilfield equipment they have no understanding of metalurgly or elastomer technology. Its all pure crap junk and wont last long. Seen it in mud pumps looked like they had been run ten years. It was onl one hour.

This is my experience with their oilfield junk. It may superficially resemble ours from a distance but materials, fit and finish, and systems integration is a total trainwreck.
