LOL. Great answer. Seems like 15-18 mph around my place and they don't move much.

During the rut it matters very little. Otherwise find a spot where the wind is blocked by a big hill.

get in a ground blind, and not under any big snags/falls/widow makers and don't worry about it.

Never to windy. Sometimes deer don't like to move in high winds, use the wind as a noise break and walk to them.

If you waited for a calm day to hunt in the rocky mountains you would never go out and hunt. Granted, we are not using tree stands but still have to use the wind to your advantage.

2 weekends ago I got up a little late and it was super windy from the south the blind is north of the feeder was able to get in the blind without spooking any deer that were already at the feeder saw a total of 8 deer with what I'm guessing 20mph or greater winds

Kansas deer are very used to high winds like that.

I always was led to believe that windy days the deer bedded down, but i no longer believe that. I hunted in 20-30 mph winds a few weeks ago and saw deer every sit. However I did come in for an afternoon hunt and see a tree 20 ft from my stand had fallen down while i was out. So always play it safe, no deer is worth risking your life.

Out west winds over 35, back in Lamar county it is close to 20. But i'll hunt anyway.

Like previously stated, try to find some low lying areas. We have a somewhat deep canyon that is pretty thick, when its windy, our deer seem to stay in there and work the hills. Matter of fact I will be going tomorrow and hunting a stand I set up for weather exactly like this.

Either way, you cant kill them from the couch! Get out there

Oh I'm out here in collin county. I was just curious what everyone thought. I hunt a little ridge line so I'm hoping in the next hour they'll start using it.
