          I agree. I have an 8 point that I've been watching for 2 years that doesn't meet AR. My family and I believe this deer is at least a 6 year old but I can't harvest it because of AR.

            It's discouraging to a lot of newcomers (like my girlfriend) who has went 4 times with me hunting and if we could take a doe in "general season" we could have had one down.

            The lack of self managing hunters is why AR is necessary in the first place.
            South Texas doesn't have AR because most hunters there are already doing more managing than what AR would accomplish.

            On the doe issue, look into your county's WMA coop in order to get some doe tags.
